Bubble shooters live or die on whether the aiming feels honest. Bubble Pop Jim gives you a proper guide line, including the bounce off the side walls, so when a shot goes wrong it is because you read the board badly and not because the game guessed.

You fire coloured bubbles up at a cluster hanging from the ceiling. Three or more of a colour touching each other pop, and anything left dangling with nothing above it falls too.

How to play

• Aim with the guide line and tap to fire.
• Match three or more of a colour to pop that group.
• Bubbles cut loose from the ceiling fall as well, which is where the big clears come from.
• Clear the board, or the required bubbles, before the ceiling reaches the bottom.

Aiming at the right thing

The scoring is in the drops, not the pops. Popping three bubbles removes three bubbles. Popping the three that were holding up a chunk of twelve removes fifteen. Once you start looking for the load-bearing bubble in a cluster rather than the nearest match, the whole game gets easier.

Bank shots off the wall are worth practising for exactly this reason: the bubble propping up a big section is usually tucked in a corner where you cannot hit it directly.
