Bursty Box Jim is a tap-to-clear puzzle. The board is packed with coloured cubes, tapping any group of two or more matching cubes clears them, and everything above drops into the space.

The size of the group you tap is what matters. Clearing pairs all game will technically empty a board but will not hit the objective in the moves you are given. Bigger groups produce boosters, and boosters are what actually finish levels.

How to play

• Tap any group of two or more touching cubes of the same colour.
• Clear five or more at once to leave a booster behind.
• Complete the level objective before you run out of moves.
• Combine two boosters next to each other for a much larger blast.

Getting more out of each move

Cubes drop straight down when a group clears, so clearing low on the board reshuffles everything above it and frequently creates larger groups by accident. Clearing at the top does nothing for the rest of the board.

If you can see a big group forming but not quite joined, it is usually worth spending a move somewhere else to let the pieces settle rather than breaking the group up for a small immediate clear.
